Parliament Trip
Our School Council had a fantastic day exploring the heart of British democracy! The adventure began with a train ride from Horsham to London Victoria, followed by a quick hop on the Underground to Westminster.
At the Houses of Parliament, we were greeted by a wonderfully funny and informative guide who brought the history and workings of Parliament to life. The children were thrilled to sit in the House of Lords (yes, on the actual red benches!) and visit the House of Commons. A special highlight was meeting the parliamentary aide to our local MP, offering insights into the daily workings behind the scenes.
After our tour, we enjoyed a sunny picnic in St James's Park, surrounded by ducks and tourists enjoying the sunshine. Our walk continued past the iconic Buckingham Palace and its grand fountain, before heading back to Victoria Station and then walking back to Greenway for 3 o'clock.
A huge thank you to Mr Reed and Miss Weller for supporting the children on this trip.
