Year 5 have been busy creating some amazing shaduf models as part of their learning
As part of their history topic on Ancient Egypt, the children explored how shadufs were used as an early irrigation device to lift water from rivers and canals to water crops. Using their understanding of levers and simple machines, they designed and built their own shaduf structures, showing fantastic creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
The finished models were impressive, with thoughtful details that showed a clear understanding of how shadufs worked and why they were so important to farming in Ancient Egypt.
Well done, Year 5 – a brilliant week of learning and building!
